It’s been far too long since I’ve posted.  But, ya know, I’ve just not felt all that great. . .physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

Today I went across the street (Public Health) and weighed myself.  I don’t remember when the last time was, but I’d bet it’s been a year.  Anyway, that last time I weighed 188 pounds!  Today I weighed 174.5.  I am so jazzed about that.  I try to watch what I eat, but I fall off the wagon A LOT.  Maybe working (2) jobs since the first of the year has had something to do with it too.  The whole exercise thing is something I will have to concentrate on next.  I still walk to work and back, twice a day; but anything beyond that I just don’t have the time, nor the energy.

How much money have you spent on stuff bought in the name of Health and Fitness?  How many exercise DVD’s, dumb-bells, and other apparatus do you have tucked away collecting dust.  I’m one of the worst and I’ve done it again.  I’m approaching this newest purchase with moderate excitement.  However, I know that if I make a real effort, this will help.

What am I talking about?  Old School, New Body, also known as The F4X System…Weight Training.  It’s a well known fact that as we age, we lose muscle mass at an increased rate.  Weight training is an effective way to counter-act that and help us slow down the aging process.  Another benefit is that muscle burns more calories for a longer period of time than cardio.  However, cardio is also an important component to help lose those extra pounds.    The first step is to just begin the program.

Now, if I could just get a handle on this exhaustion…
