So, Leon’s been gone for five days. That means that I haven’t been sleeping well, and it’s starting to get to me. I’m hoping I’m in bed by midnight, but we’ll see what happens.

I did Week Two Day Two (W2D2) of my C25K workout. When I ran on Monday, I couldn’t even finish the run. I felt like a total failure. I got some pepping up from the folks on the Facebook C25K page. Tonight when I did my run, the tones that separate the last running interval from the last walking cool-down set (I use Podrunner: Intervals when I run; there is a separation tone from walking to running) surprised me. I felt like I could have kept going another 10-15 minutes. I walked home and ate a big-ass salad (which is what I’ve been eating most nights) with ham, black olives, imitation crab, some baby portabella mushrooms, and some strawberries, topped with Wishbone’s Superfruit Vinaigrette dressing. I forgot the cheese and the Vidalia onions.

I’ve been trying to drink a lot more water, but sometimes, I just gotta have a Dew to wake up. After that, I’m good with the flavored water. Maybe some juice, too.

I kind of envy Princess and Drama Queen for having someone to train with (and in case you’re wondering, my team name is Diva. As it should be). I know there are other people around here I could jiggle along with, but … enh.

I did clue into something that Don said a couple of months ago. I can’t listen to music and not run or walk on the beat. So I had to learn to shorten my stride when I run at 138 beats per minute so I didn’t, y’know, throw up and then DIE.

The Jingle Bell Run is only a little while away. I’ll be running three times at Between the Worlds\, but that’s Week 7. Oh, sweet jesus, I just looked at that workout. 5 minute warm-up, 25 minutes of running, 4 minute cool-down. It makes me tired just thinking about it. I WILL do it, though.

My new motto for this is “Train like a Rock Star.” And since I’m older than 27, I won’t be dying at the end of it.
